King Pond:

A footbridge was constructed over this small body of water (left image) to allow for easy crossing of the Murphy Trail. In the winter months, this area often freezes over creating a thick sheet of ice. The foot bridge was built using 2 pieces of 2" x 6' x 8' and planking cut into 32" sections to maximize the use of materials. When laying the planks down on the bridge, small nails where used as spaces to ensure water could drain between the planks.
